In which the Bogwitch makes me blush

In a strange way, its kind of harder to realise that rather than complete strangers, people you know, people with whom you interact, people whose opinions you can’t just shrug off with a “well it wasn’t their thing”, are reading my book. It’s brilliant but also somewhat terrifying.

Bogwitch (bogwitch64) posted her review of The Scroll Thief on Livejournal (and I now love her a lil’bit more!)

In other news, The Scroll Thief got an honourable mention in the LRC Best Fantasy of 2009 poll so thanks so much for the votes!

And other than that, things are ticking over. I’m working on the new WIP and its twisting arond on itself to create new and wonderful idea…

Review for The Wolf’s Mate

A lovely review in for The Wolf’s Mate from ireadromance.com

Long has a wonderful gift when it comes to creating the fantasy world and weaving a tale which tests her own characters’ strengths.  Shan and Jeren had a lot thrown at them, it almost seems every five pages another conflict was added to the mix.  Looking back on it the romance actually sits quietly in the background while the growth of Jeren is very much at the forefront.  I look forward to the next chapter in Jeren and Shan’s quest for happiness.” ~ Natalie, rating 3

Many thanks Natalie.

An early review for The Wolf’s Mate: a Tale of the Holtlands

I got home this morning to a lovely (and early) review for The Wolf’s Mate.

“It’s well written, fast paced and filled with interesting and unique characters….The best part of the story is Jeren herself. I liked her in The Wolf’s Sister but in this release, she really grows and shines, as she turns into a confident and determined woman, willing to fight for her man. I’m very curious to see what happens to these two mates with the next and last release.” – 4 Nymphs, Mystical Nymph, Literary Nymphs Reviews Only

You can read the full review on their site, but I’m delighted. It’s like an early Christmas present!

The Wolf’s Mate: a Tale of the Holtlands comes out in January.

Soul Fire – “Let me start by saying ‘wow!'”

A Super 5 Cherries review for Soul Fire came in this morning from Whipped Cream Erotic Romance Reviews:

“Let me start by saying “wow!”…R.F. Long has the amazing ability to drag her readers into the story and carry them along for the ride. The characters were unique and out of this world, yet they seemed like someone you could get along with and have fun with… If you want to read something mind-blowing and incredible then I would recommend you read this story.” ~~ Tulip, Whipped Cream Erotic Romance Reviews – read the full review here.

I’m delighted. Just what a girl needs to sooth frazzled nerves before a book launch. 🙂

Soul Fire is currently available as an ebook from Samhain, Amazon’s Kindle, and other online retailers and will be released as a print book on the 1st of May 2010.

Review for Soul Fire

It’s always lovely to log on in the morning and find a Google alert about a nice review (less pleasant, of course, is to find one with a bad review, but hey, it means people are reading!)

Natalie from Ireadromance.com reviews Soul Fire.

“a great fast read, like a snowball rolling and constantly gaining momentum.”

Happy day!

And just in case you need something else to cheer you up Cute Overload has a weird but cute cat whose intellectual powers appear to rival even those of our very own Patchwork Cat!

I promise to do a post of photos from France soon. I just haven’t got round to it as yet.

Soul Fire review at Romantic Inks

Delighted this morning to get a review of Soul Fire – Twitter notified me first of all. Google alerts trailed behind. I love Twitter! 😀

“In Soul Fire, R. F. Long has created an intriguing world of light and dark magic.  Of intense action and hot love.   From the opening scene, she drew me in. Captivated me.  She’s taken an age old tale of good versus evil and has freshened it up with unique characters  … I recommend R. F. Long’s Soul Fire.  It made me smile and love and not want to put the book down.” – Sandra Barkevich, Romantic Inks (read the full review here)

First Review for Soul Fire!

So delighted to read this. What a way to start the day?!

From ParanormalRomance.org

“No question about it, Soul Fire is monumentally thrilling and exotic. I couldn’t put the book down. A rare treat for me, I devoured this story from beginning to end in one sitting and I want more! … An out of this world paranormal romance/fantasy story that will have readers clamoring for more, Soul Fire is one hot read I will be recommending to all of my friends.” — Amanda Haffery, ParaNormalRomance

and its a nice review too… “a wonderful start to the series”

Also up to day is the almost infamous “ghost post” at Texty Ladies. I mentioned in my interview with Jane about various ghost sightings and she asked for more information. She opened the call last week to Texty Ladies readers and the result is up today. It makes for some interesting and spooky reading!

A few more edits for The Scroll Thief are underway, and I’ve seen the design for the cover. It’s gorgeous… no.. it’s GORGEOUS! 🙂
